Ahmed Ali Abdel-Hafez, Ph.D. Holder and the Vice President for Cyber Security Affairs at the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in Egypt. With a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Military Technical College (MTC) in 1990 and 1997 respectively, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2003.
Dr. Ahmed boasts over 32 years of experience in Telecommunication Systems and holds certification as a Consultant in Information Security Systems since 2013. Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing the Cryptography Research Center (CRC) within the Egyptian Ministry of Defense (MOD), overseeing staff management, supervision, and capacity building for 8 years. Under his leadership, the center developed a National Encryption Algorithm and various cryptosystems for defense and governmental sectors.
A distinguished academic, Dr. Ahmed has act as a Visiting Lecturer/Professor in several top Egyptian universities. He has supervised numerous PhD and MSc students and has authored over 70 international publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and academic conferences.
In addition to his role at NTRA, Dr. Ahmed chairs the Executive Bureau of The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council and holds prime membership in the council. He was honored with the Second Class Order of the Republic by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in 2020 for his remarkable contributions to the field.
Dr. Mohamed Kamal
Director of Cyber Security Department - Ministry of Finance, Egypt
Dr. Mohamed Kamal is leading the Cybersecurity Department at the Ministry of Finance of Egypt, with over 24 years in the IT field in general, and in network and security in particular. Also has extensive experience in training in the public and private sectors, exceeding 20 years.
In addition to obtaining a Ph.D. With a research thesis on “the impact of cybersecurity on e-government services” from Ain Shams University 2022, he holds postgraduate studies in information technology and entrepreneurship from the University of Connecticut - New York - USA (2008), a fellowship degree in information technology and data security from Crowder College - Missouri – USA (2010), and the International Executive Director Program from India 2012
He has received several honors from the US State Department and the General Union of Top Students in the United States during his studies in the United States of America.
I also received certificates and letters of thanks from many parties in America, India, and Egypt.
Dr. Mohamed is a certified engineer from several international companies, such as Microsoft, Cisco, and EC-council. He is also a certified cyber security analyst from EC-council.
Anthony Samir
Manager of Cybersecurity Unite - Ministry of Health and Population, Egypt
Anthony in his current role is heading the Cybersecurity division of the Ministry of Health and Population- Egypt and is establishing and monitoring cybersecurity rules in the ministry. He is also the Head of infrastructure team on the ‘UHI project’ along with many other important roles within the ministry.
Prior to joining the Ministry, Anthony has worked with ‘Egyptian Ambulance Organization’ (EAO) as the ‘Director of tracking and controlling Department’ and ‘Head of Technical support Division’.
