ABOUT DIGIDEFENCE SUMMIT EGYPT

Global cyber threat is increasing growing at a very fast pace. Recently, Internet users have grown by 167 million over the past 12 months, taking the worldwide total to 5.45 billion, which means more users are prone to cyberthreats. Each day around more than 2,200 cyberattacks occur and approximately 88.5 million people are victims of cybercrimes every year.

MENA is expected to experience the highest growth rate on cybersecurity among all segments, surging by 24% year-over-year. Countries across the region are spending a lot on cybersecurity. Egypt was ranked 9th according to the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) which is based on the ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA). The Egypt cybersecurity market size is estimated at USD 220.34 million in 2024, and is expected to reach USD 395.12 million by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 12.39% during the forecast period (2024-2029).

The Egyptian government, with a particular focus on Cairo, the hub of digital activities, is prioritising cybersecurity. The Egypt National Cybersecurity Strategy initiative aims to safeguard the nation, its infrastructure, and its citizens from cyber threats. The country is witnessing an increase in the emergence of new players in the market to offer competitive cybersecurity. The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC), operating under the Egyptian Cabinet, has developed the National Cybersecurity Strategy for 2023-2027. This strategy primarily aims to counter the rising cyber threats from various sources. In addition, it focuses on cultivating skilled professionals and strengthening the domestic cybersecurity industry, with the objective of significantly contributing to the GDP of Egypt.

Under the guidance of CXO’s and Heads of Sectors engaged in Egypt's Digital Transformation Journey, we are organising the DigiDefence Summit on 17 - 18 November 2026 in Cairo, Egypt. As Egypt rapidly advances in digitalization, this summit will serve as a key platform for exploring and showcasing cybersecurity strategies. The event offers opportunities for knowledge sharing, highlighting best practices and participate in stimulating discussions on vital topics including Advanced Threat Detection and Response, Zero Trust Security, Quantum Cryptography and Blockchain in cybersecurity and Cyber capacity building (CCB).
