The global landscape of cyber threats is evolving at an unprecedented pace, with the MENA region projected to witness the highest growth rate in cybersecurity across all sectors, soaring by 24% year-over-year.
Egypt has established itself as a significant player in this domain, recently ranked 9th in cybersecurity capabilities by the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI), which is informed by the ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA). The Egyptian government, with a strong emphasis on Cairo as the epicenter of digital activities, is prioritizing robust cybersecurity measures. The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC), operating under the auspices of the Egyptian Cabinet, has crafted the National Cybersecurity Strategy for 2023-2027. This comprehensive strategy is primarily designed to combat escalating cyber threats from diverse sources while fostering the development of skilled professionals and fortifying the domestic cybersecurity industry, ultimately aiming to make a substantial contribution to Egypt's GDP.
